This special reading program is for all kids and teens in grades K through 12!

Coloring Club at Home 

Thursday, September 17

We'll provide the coloring pages, you provide the creativity! Coloring Club coloring packets are available at the adult reference desk the third Thursday of each month. Take a packet home to color and post your completed works of art on social media before the next coloring club for a chance to WIN A PRIZE! 

 Morning Meditation (For Adults and Teens)

Join us live for some simple morning stretches and meditation to get ready for the day.


Escape the Library - Virtual Escape Room 

Monday, September 21 - Friday, September 25

Escape the library and enter a raffle to win your very own copy of The Library Book by Susan Orlean. Feel free to complete the room by yourself or with a group. The link to the escape room will be provided on all West Allis Library social media.


 Cooped Up Crafts (For Adults and Teens)

Friday, September 25 at 3:30 PM

Take and Make craft kits for teens and adults! Registration is required and begins September 8. Register by calling 414-302-8500 or online HERE. Once registered, you can pick up your Take and Make kit between September 15 - 24 by visiting the library or scheduling a curbside pick-up. Those who are registered will be provided with a Zoom link for a LIVE video on how to make the craft. Those of you who do not register can still participate with your own supplies! A how-to video will be posted online the day of the event.

Not sure what to read next? Want to know some awesome new YA titles? Join Katie for a short discussion of what she's reading, and have your reader's advisory questions answered! This is an informal Facebook Live Chat and is intended for Adult and older YA readers. 


Grab and Go Leisure Learners Bundles 

For those who miss our Monday morning program, Leisure Learners or for those looking for enriching and educational items, check out our (new!) Leisure Learners Bundles. 

We have prepared many themed bundles that deal with travel, history, gardening, and many more subjects! These bundles are boxed together for a grab and go experience. For a complete list of topics either stop by or call our Information Desk at 414-302-8500. These bundles may also be checked out via our curbside service.

Teen Online Scavenger Hunt

Use the library's databases to answer some questions and enter to win a reward! This program is for students in grades 6 - 12. More information will be posted on the Teen Blog and Teen Instagram.


 Virtual Friday Fun!

Friday, September 18 from 3:30 - 4:30 PM

Hang out via Zoom with your friends. We'll have a few games on hand or you can just chat and catch up. Register online HERE. Once registered, you will be sent the Zoom link for the day of the event. This event is only for teens in grades 6 - 12.

Check Out Our New StoryWalk!

Stop by the library and check out the new StoryWalk on the parking lot side of the building! What is a StoryWalk? StoryWalk is a children's book posted on signs, page by page, so kids and adults can enjoy a story outside while on a walk. As you stroll down the sidewalk, you're directed to the next page in the story. Our first story is Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae.

It contains a diverse and constantly growing online collection of multimedia K-12 book and author resources that helps teachers integrate books throughout the curriculum. The library is OPEN. Please keep in mind the following when visiting the library:** 

  • Visits should be kept at 30 minutes or less.
  • Limited onsite services are currently available, including browsing & checkout, copier and FAX services, and reference services.
  • At this time, masks are required for patrons and library staff. Masks are available at the circulation desk for those in need of one.
  • Use of public computers is not available.
  • Study rooms are not accessible at this time.
  • Limited seatin is available; visits should be kept at 30 minutes or less.
  • Toys and coloring supplies have been removed from the Children's Department.
  • Curbside service continues to be available.
