Share your stories of what life has been like since Covid-19 has impacted our community. Visit our website or click HERE to share your story and contrbute to our community narrative of life during these unique times. You may also pick up a paper copy of the form in the library.

Genre Bingo 

Each month this summer we will have a different genre bingo card! Pick-up a printed bingo card at the library or you print your own copy HERE. You may also find a link on our website. Show us your completed bingo card and be entered into a raffle to win a small prize.
This month's theme: Science Fiction!


 Recipe Club - July is Jello and Salad Month! 

Each month this summer, staff will share a recipe and a step-by-step process making the recipe on our social media. We encourage you to share your own success making the same recipe or share one of your favorite Jello or Salad recipes!


Coloring Club - Thursday, July 16 

For those of you who may be missing coloring club, we invite you to participate from home! Stop by the library to pick-up a coloring packet. Be sure to share your art with us on social media!


 Virtual Books & Coffee Discussion - Saturday, July 18

A virtual version of our monthly Books & Coffee Discussion! Join us online to chat about the book of the month! We'll vote on which book to read, then discuss the book. Be sure to follow us on Facebook to get up-to-date information and to participate.


Cooped Up Crafts (for Adults and Teens) - Tuesday, July 21 

If you are missing Getting Crafty, we have an alternative take and create program! Kits will be available to take and create at home. Registration is required, please call 414-302-8500, or register online HERE. Registration begins July 7. Once we have confirmed registration, library staff will contact you to schedule a pick-up for your craft kit. Those who do not register can still participate, details will be on our Facebook page.


 Virtual Harry Potter Escape Room - Friday, July 31

Help us celebrate Harry Potter's 40th birthday with a virtual escape room! Complete by yourself or as a group. Those who "escape" can enter a raffle to win a small Harry Potter themed prize!


Leisure Learner Topics to Go! 

We look forward to when we can resume our regular, onsite Leisure Learners programs, but in the meantime we have created kits of various themes to checkout. Themes range from Milwaukee History, to Gardening and from Budgeting to Nature. Call us at 414-302-8500 to request from one of our many topics!

 Teen Writers' Camp - Thursdays, July 16, 23, & 30

Starting Monday, July 13, stop by the library and pick up a writer's kit. Then, follow along on the teen blog and Instagram page for writing prompts and to share your writing! Supplies on writers kits will be limited, but anyone can follow along online.


Random Fandom Trivia - Thursday, July 16

Who HQ Book Club (Big Head Books)

Join us each night, Monday - Friday at 7 PM as Miss Beth reads from a new "Who Was..." book on our Youtube page! 


Weekly Bingo/Scavenger Hunt 

Each Monday morning on our Facebook page we will post a bingo card or scavenger hunt. We will also have copies available at the library.

The following are the current policies and procedures for visiting the library.** 

  • Please limit your visit to 30 minutes or less.
  • Limited onsite services will be available, including browsing & checkout, copier and FAX services, and reference services.
  • Masks are not required, but are strongly encouraged. Masks are available at the circulation desk for those who need it.
  • Use of public computers is not available.
  • Study rooms are not accessible.
  • Furniture has been removed to encourage social distancing and discourage lingering and large groups of people. 
  • There will be no on-site programs. All programming will be virtual.
  • Toys and coloring supplies have been removed from the Children's Department.
  • Curbside service will continue to be available.


**Policies and procedures are subject to change due to recommendations from the West Allis Health Department.
