The 13-Story Treehouse

Kids Book Club

Rodman Public Library invites children, ages 8-12, to join the Kids Book Club, which will meet on the third Wednesday of each month. The Sept. 15 selection is The 13-Story Treehouse by Andy Griffiths for Other selections for the remainder of 2021 are Malcolm at Midnight by W.H. Beck on Oct. 20, Sweeping Up the Heart by Kevin Henkes on Nov. 17 and  OCDaniel by Wesley King on Dec. 15. Books are available for extended checkout at the Children’s Department. Registration is required for each session through our online calendar or by calling 330-821-2665, ext. 223. 

Kids Gaming

Kids Gaming

Rodman Public Library invites children, ages 8-12, to Kids Gaming every first Wednesday of each month at the Main Library Auditorium. From 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., children will be treated to open play of video games, Minecraft, etc. on devices provided by the library. Registration is required for each session. Kids Crafting

A children’s craft program will be held Sept. 9 at Rodman Public Library. Children, ages 8-12, are invited to the Main Library at 4:00 p.m. to paint a woodland animal (fox, bear, or owl) mini ceramic succulent planter. Space is limited and registration is required by visiting our online calendar or by calling the Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223.

Animal Crossing

Animal Crossing

Rodman Public Library’s Children’s Department will host an event based on the popular Animal Crossing video game on Saturday, Sept. 25. The family program will be held between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the Main Library. Anytime between those hours, patrons can come and take part in the event. Attendees will not be playing the video game, but will visit stations to complete tasks related to Animal Crossing. Kids who complete each task will receive a prize while supplies last. Registration is required by visiting our online calendar or by calling 330-821-2665, ext. 223.

Hedgehog Magnet

Branch Take and Make

Starting Wednesday, Sept. 1  kids can stop by the Rodman Branch Library to pick up a Hedgehog Magnet “take and make” craft. All supplies for the craft will be included as well as step-by-step instructions for constructing each craft. Supplies are limited and will be given out at a first come, first served basis. Hot Pots Storytime

The Rodman Public Library Branch will resume its Hot Pots Storytime for children ages 3-12 in September. Sessions will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 and at 11 a.m. on Sept. 18 when attendees will listen to a story at the Branch Library and then visit Hot Pots to paint a jack-o-lantern. The cost is $12 and patrons must register with Hot Pots by calling 330-823-3333. For more information, call the Branch Library at 330-821-1313.

Wee Read

Rodman Public Library will host a Fall Wee Read session on Mondays and Wednesdays between Sept. 13 and Nov. 15. Beginning on Monday, Sept. 13, Wee Read will be offered every Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. and every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Children, ages birth through two years, and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend. Wee Read includes stories, fingerplays, music and movement. For more information, call the Main Library Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223.  No registration is required.

Storytime

Storytime

Children, ages 3-5, and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend Storytime sessions this fall at Rodman Public Library. Morning sessions will be held each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. between Sept. 16 and Nov. 18 at the Main Library. Evening Storytime sessions will be held each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. between Sept. 14 and Nov. 16 as part of Family Fun Nights at the Main Library. Storytime sessions are intended to encourage lifelong readers through stories, music, movement and activities. For more information, contact the Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223. No registration is required.

Family Fun Night

Family Fun Night

Beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 14, Family Fun Night returns to Rodman Public Library. Each Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m., parents or caregivers are invited to participate in an entertaining evening with their preschool and school-aged children in Rodman Main Children’s Department. For children ages 3 to 5, Storytime will offer music, interaction and stories. During this same time, all school-aged children will share in their own fun activities that are based on the STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Math) program. Coming In October

Rodman Public Library's annual Halloween Party for Children is planned for Saturday, Oct. 23 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. More information on this event will be coming soon.
