Pin Number Required for Rodman Library Accounts

Due to the recent change of our system from joining the Serving Every Ohioan (SEO) Constorium, each Rodman Library patron account now requires a pin number to log in for both our online catalog and digital materials. The default pin number for an account should be the last four digits of the phone number associated with the account. For questions on your pin number or how to change it, please call us at 330-821-2665. 

December Online Programs

Join Rodman Public Library Monday through Friday at 10:30 a.m. via Facebook Live for entertaining programs from our familiar faces.
  • Mondays – Rodman Challenges: Rodman staff challenge you and others to various tests, trials, and dares. 
    • Dec. 7: Find out what you can build with dominoes. 
    • Dec. 14: Find out who is the best at wrapping presents in a Christmas themed race.
    • Dec. 21: Find out how you can make tree decorating easier with a catapult.
    • Dec. 28: Find out who can complete the “ice block” challenge. 
  • Tuesdays – Story Time: Rodman staff will read stories, play games, and sing songs with your children.
  • Wednesdays – Rodman @ Home: Rodman staff will share things you can make or do using items from home, including crafts, baking and cooking demonstrations, birding, and gardening activities.
    • Dec. 2: Learn how to make potpourri in a jar. 
    • Dec. 9: Learn how to make a seasonal candle holder. 
    • Dec. 16: Learn easy methods for wrapping gifts for the holidays. 
    • Dec. 23: Learn how to make a glittery snowflake ornament. 
    • Dec. 30: Learn how to set a table for a winter-themed party. 
  • Thursdays – Rodman Recommended Reads: Rodman staff will recommend good books to read, featuring various genres each week.
    • Dec. 3: Find out which books you should read to help you celebrate the holiday season.
    • Dec. 10: Find out which Christmas fiction books to read this month.
    • Dec. 17: Find out which YA mystery books you should read.
    • Dec. 31: Find out which books can you help you organize your home for the new year.
  • Fridays – Boredom Busters: Rodman staff will share fun activities you can do at home with things from around your house.
    • Dec. 4: Make a mini hat using a paper roll and yarn. 
    • Dec. 11: Make a Christmas lights art piece using chalk and black construction paper. 
    • Dec. 18: Make Christmas themed snacks for the holiday.

December "Take and Make" Craft Bags

Starting, Tuesday, December 1, stop by the Main and Branch libraries to pick up "take and make" crafts. Kids can stop by the Children’s Department at the Main Library for a Christmas lights garland craft and the Branch Library for a reindeer ornament craft. (Recommended for ages 6+) Teens, ages 12-18, can stop by the Reference Department for a canvas ornament craft. Adults, ages 18+, can stop by the Circulation Desk at the Main Library for a cookie cutter ornament craft and the Branch Library for a holiday candle craft.

All supplies for the crafts will be included as well as step-by-step instructions for constructing the crafts. How-to tutorial video for some of the crafts will also be available to watch via our YouTube channel. Supplies are limited and will be given out at a first come first served basis. Online Teen Writing Club

Creative ideas flowing? Join Rodman Public Library for an online Teen Writing Club that meets on Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m. The next meetings are December 2, 16, and 30. We will be using Google Hangout as our meeting site. To sign up, teens need to email rodmaninfo@gmail.com with their name, age and Gmail account. Teens must have a Gmail account to participate. An invitation to join the meeting will be sent to the email address the teen has provided. Any teen, age 12-18, can join. Have fun meeting virtually with your fellow teen writers to exchange ideas, hone your skills and share your work. 

Teen Book Club

Are you a teen who loves to read? Join Rodman Public Library for the online Teen Book Club that meets once a month on Mondays at 4:00 p.m.

Darius the Great Is Not Okay coverThe next meeting will be on December 14 and the selected title will be Darius the Great Is Not Okay by Adib Khorram. Copies are available through the Main Library or digitally through Axis 360.

Books and Coffee Book Club

Rodman Public Library invites you to join us for our online book club “Books & Coffee.” The next book club meeting will be on Thursday, December 17 at 10:30 a.m.

Noel Street coverThe selected title will be Noel Street by Richard Paul Evans. Copies are available through the Main and Branch libraries or digitally through the Ohio Digital Library.
